In an age of constantly bringing brand new products, the Harman Kardon SoundSticks III is delivering a minor update to its previous model. To be said minor since the SoundsSticks II has offered excellent super sound and design that has been accepted into New York MoMA’s collection. However, this current version should remain the people’s choice due to some versatile specifications from the looks to the strong subwoofer. This PC speaker lists for $169.95 though it will finally tend to decrease into more affordable point as the previous version did.
Design
The Harman Kardon SoundSticks III almost has identical look to previous models. A major distinction is on each speaker which now applies black bases for the rubberized sections and a white sub light. The transparent plastic curve highlights each four mid-range drivers of its satellite. The subwoofer receives transparency, too, creating an image of a jellyfish or alien spacecraft. The subwoofer is now enhanced to glow of internal pale light when in use.
The hardwire cables are twisted through a transparent casing, giving better impression this time. Sadly these cables cannot be fully unplugged from the system, meaning of your troubles when you need to repair or replace the unit. The unit does not include a remote control for controlling volume and doing other audio settings.
Audio Performance
The SoundSticks III really promises more than just looks. The unit features a volume knob to amplify or dial back the bass. This third series does the most natural outcome with the volume set at the halfway point. Distortion should appear when you boost the sub to max. The SoundSticks III promotes a superbly crisp audio experience for classical, rock, acoustic, rap or jazz music.
